Origins

It all has to start somewhere.

“TG”:

The TG came first. Tequila Ginger was brought to life one wild night in Scottsdale, Arizona that I have to believe happened, because I have no recollection of any of it. According to my companions I lived my best life. I have to take their stories, and all the photographs, as proof. Good friends pull your underwear up when they are falling down and you are too drunk to do it yourself. They also have the bartender serve you water instead of Tequila when your blood alcohol is becoming dangerously high. The next day they name your alter ego so affectionally you aren’t too embarrassed about what you did or didn’t do. I am so lucky to have such good friends. TG is my Sasha Fierce and her essence has moved me forward these last few years, even when I am sober.

“Thirsty Trap”:

Anyone under the age of 30 probably already corrected this in their head to “Thirst Trap”. Being of a certain generation, some of us more seasoned docs aren’t up on the new lingo on the street. Also, we never get out on the street because we work all the damn time. Luckily new fresh faced docs come along to remind us how out of touch we have become. One fateful call night my friend and I were schooled on the meaning of “thirst trap” thanks to a “thirst trap” photo she received from her lonely husband( it was super sexy BTW) The rest is history. She ignored the correct term and kept calling it “Thirsty Trap” until the name stuck and we decided we needed a bar called TG’s Thirsty Trap. Our young friend decided he needed a drink after listening to us call it “Thirsty Trap” all night.* So the dream began.

*We plan to serve him free drinks for life for putting up with us.
