Quotes are us.

You will notice the options to select quotes from our docs to go on your merchandise. These quotes usually came about after the end of a grueling shift when our filters were non existent. When you combine what we do with fatigue and stress, snarky and saucy comments are abundant. We just need the comic relief to offset the reality of our life some days. We never stop collecting quotes so there will be new ones guaranteed. Keep watching. I picked three of my favorite to start.

Dr Cheema, one of the three OG creators of TG’s that fateful call night, completed her OB/GYN residency in Las Vegas. She received excellent training in areas many of us didn't for obvious reasons! One day we were discussing vulvar injuries we have seen ( because this is honestly what we sit around discussing) and she popped out this gem. She wasn’t trying to be funny. Just honest. But we laughed anyway. Because it is funny, absurd for some, and normal for others. And we still laugh.

On a side note:

I was way to far into my residency to admit before I realized people didn’t “just fall” onto candlesticks. I couldn't believe how common that injury was and I was really nervous around candlesticks until I figured out what was going on.

“ I have licked a lot of things in my life that have gotten me into trouble”.

This was in response to a patient telling us she tested positive for meth because she licked her boyfriend on the neck when he was high on meth. I was just coming to her defense. Everyone found this funny but I am not sure I was joking.

“I don’t look in holes I don’t know”.

One morning signing out we were discussing a patient complaining of ear pain who wanted us to look at it. This was my colleague’s astute response. I believe it is a good creed to live your career if not your life by.
